Shaun Herbertson

Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Shaun has been crafting powerful moving images since 2009. Whilst he’s had experience in almost every facet of cinematography, he’s passionate about telling stories with a unique point of view, working mainly in narrative, commercial and documentary genres.

Shaun’s varied credits include Fashion Asia (F.A.D. Group), Inside MMA (Spike TV), Highway Cattle (documentary), Blood, Sweat & Tears (documentary), Larry The Wonderpup (36 part dramedy TV Series) for Channel 7TWO, To the Ends of the Earth (documentary) for National Geographic and the multi award-winning Chris & Josh (The Web Series), among many others. With a slight obsession about visual storytelling, Shaun loves to help a creative team bring their stories to life.

A full Australian Cinematography Society Member (ACS), Shaun is the primary Cinematographer for Shakespeare Republic, also shooting the short film spin-off Speaking Daggers and was honoured with a Best Cinematography Award at the Sicily WebFest in Italy for his work on Season Two of the series. He is currently Director of Photography on the international feature documentary, Champion (The Franz Stampfl Story), also for Incognita Enterprises, and for the Republic’s upcoming Shakespeare mini-series, Dark Arcadia, due to film in late 2020..

Although he’s based in Melbourne,  you’ll often find him checking in at the oversize baggage counter as he works both interstate and internationally.
