YOLANDA OVIDE

Yolanda Ovide is a professional actress based in London, UK.

An avid Shakespeare fan, whilst she was training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), she had the joy of playing; Viola in Twelfth Night and Baptista Minola in The Taming of the Shrew. Since graduating she has worked with Mischief Theatre Company in A Comedy about a Bank Robbery UK Tour, Secret Cinema’s Casino Royale and prior to lockdown with Women’s Writes at the Vaults Festival in A Guide to Not Being A Shit Feminist.

During lockdown Yolanda has continued to keep working. She has participated in two live-streamed performances with The Show Must Go Online company playing; Biondello in The Taming of the Shrew and George Clarence in Richard III via Youtube. In April, she won Paradox Theatre Company’s 2020 Monologue Competition. Giving her the opportunity to premiere playwright Maria Ferguson’s latest work, ‘Bonnie’.

And most recently, she had the pleasure of working with Birmingham Repertory Theatre’s Associate Director, Maddie Kludje, to perform This Sunday by Jade Anouka, in a online charity fundraising event for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). 

Yolanda is extremely excited to be working with Shakespeare Republic and eagerly looks forward to starting this project.
